You always hear the saying life is a gift. But the gift you are looking at, you are probably saying to yourself, I'm not too fond of this gift. When we unwrap a gift, we want diamonds, pearls, and lovely things to sit on our shelves to look at. Despite the ups and downs, life is a gift. So, let's unwrap it.
We get so busy daily that we don't get a chance to cherish it. I'm not talking about traveling the world because some of us take multiple trips and still need to unwrap the greatness of life. You go on trips, come back, and your life still feels like an ugly present.

This year I've had a chance to unwrap life, I have not opened the gift all the way, but I got a peek, and I feel the beauty of my gift, which is life. I've learned to cherish the small things. Such as the smiles on my children's faces. Or the disappointment at work. You say what. Yes, disappointment. I've learned to cherish the storm because it shows me how far I come and how I operate in the storm versus how I used to operate.
We all hate paying bills; that's a gift of life we all want to give back. But I cherish that I can pay my bills without struggle. My tire may go flat on the way to work, but I cherish having a car.
The more I sit back and look at life, the more I know that how you perceive life is how the gift will look to you. In essence, on Christmas, one child may get a yo-yo, and it lights up their world, versus another child getting a yo-yo and they feel like you gave them a lump of coal. It is all about how we perceive the gift.
Life is a gift that only looks good on your shelf if you allow it.
Sit back, unwrap your life, and cherish what's in your gift.
